Next weekend, treat yourself to a wine feast, complete with grape stomping, visits to wineries and wine tastings.
You can either club this with the ongoing Sulafest or treat it as a separate getaway. "We started this to provide a space for people to head to after the festival. We want to add to a guest's experience of visiting this wine country," says Vikrant Holkar, founder of Red Grapes, the organisers of the getaway.
A previous Grape to Glass session
Red Grapes is located at Vinchur, 45km from Nashik. They call themselves India's first wine information centre and largest wine park. They have a selection of wines for tasting and purchase, and, through the year, they organise wine tours.
The price includes camping, lunch, breakfast, a Grape to Glass session, bonfire and a complimentary wine bottle. The grape stomping experience comes at an extra Rs 200, and for additional charges, you can also visit vineyards in the area, such as Sula, Vallone and York.
"The Grape to Glass wine session will include a talk about the wine-making process and give guests a chance to taste some local wines," adds Holkar. "We will also take them on a tour of the wineries in the park."
