In an interview, Swetha Devaraj said, 'As a child, I was always into sports, but tennis was something which continued to stay with me. At 21, I started playing for numerous tournaments in the country and even in the US. That was also the time when I started running and cross fit training.'
Swetha Devaraj is of the belief that fitness should be of both, the body and the mind. Working out and fitness should not be something you need to get off your plate, but something you really look forward to
In 2012, Swetha Devaraj ran from Mysore to Coorg, covering 120 km in two days, to help promote mixed martial arts in India
Considering her job, Swetha Devaraj's life is an extremely hectic one. Her day starts at 4am and she manages to get her workout session in before the start of her job -- which leaves her with no time to even eat lunch sometimes. But if she misses her workout in the day, then she makes sure she gets one in after her workday
Swetha Devaraj also mentors people on their fitness journey online. She says that she helps these people with their fitness and nutritional needs making sure they have someone to talk to at all times of the day
Swetha Devaraj says she loves being next to water bodies and makes sure she takes a trip some place with a beach every now and then
When asked about her future plans, Swetha Devaraj says, 'I want to reach out to people who think that they cannot afford working out and weight training at the gym. My goal is to make my programmes more accessible to people online. I'm planning to have a website in future. Exercising is a great stress buster and a mood lifter and it's the way I want to start everyday ... why not when it keeps me happy and energetic through out the day right?? !! U know what I am talking about if your already working out regularly and if u don't then better start some kind of physical activity that makes you happy!!

Swetha Devaraj: How many of you think your life is well balanced? How many of you think you are extremists and constantly think of doing everything in moderation but fall of the track frequently ? I am an extremist in a lot of things but fortunately was introduced to finding mediums through which we can find our balance. It doesn't have to be one thing for everything, for example: running and working out brings a sense of balance in my eating habits and brings in discipline to my life. Travelling or getting away sometimes brings that balance into my life when I get burnt out from work, reading brings a sense of balance when my mind is occupied with negativity. Explore and find out what your medium is, to bring that balance in ur lives. It could be a nice hobby, or something that u may wana learn like a musical instrument, photography etc. That medium is what brings discipline into your life, making it balanced !!

Swetha Devaraj: How do u feel after your workouts?? Do u feel like u just died and came back, feel like throwing up or do u feel content and feel like smiling ? If it's the first two then hang in there and try to be regular to workouts... your body needs time to get used to physical activities after a break or if you are just getting into fitness, so give it sometime and keep pushing and then once you pass that stage you will begin to enjoy the process and will be looking forward to many more of these!!
Swetha Devaraj: You are not the only one to fall off the wagon during holidays or go yoyoing with your weight .. I am right there with y'all!! Most of u see me eat very clean .. it's the month of Dec, I let go a lil bit and just be free, instead of eating unconsciously throughout the year! This is for two reasons though ...firstly like most people, i don't have the body type to sustain on greasy, sugary and carb loaded food on a regular basis, even though I am so active physically, age is also another factor (yep I'm much older than u think I am #waitforittilljan26th) , so eating clean food all the time is a must for me, resisting my #bigass sugar cravings, primarily due to competing in races and ofcourse to stay lean. But Dec I give into indulgence like it's no ones business.. anyway point is this try to eat clean through out the week and have one cheat meal, thts right not a CHEAT 'DAY'!!! And slowly practice that throughout the year and ofcourse end of the year be merry, that the Damage control doesn't exceed your limits. And start of the year bounce back with new goals and get back on track which is exactly what I am going to be doing .. so watch me do me .. let's see how long this takes for me to get back to the previous shape
Swetha Devaraj: If you see the world with the vision of positivity and love, you will find everything so meaningful and beautiful, enjoying each and every moment, making it easier for yourself!! Try it upside down as well sometimes, Practising the tuck handstands with my belly tucked in and pressing my shoulders down..I think I'm getting decent at it but long way to go though!!

Swetha Devaraj: There is a big mirror in my room right in front of my bed ... it's not just for decorative purpose but it reminds and teaches me a lot of things every single day and night. There are times I look in that mirror and I dislike what I'm seeing, sometimes I look right at it and feel on top of the world. A few times It has reminded me of where I hve come from and which direction I need to go in. Day in and day out it tells me I'm my own competition... But every single night before I hit the bed, it tells me I need to be grateful for who I am, where I am and for all the people/things I have and will receive !!! Swetha Devaraj: Just because you are not making progress as fast as you think you should, does not mean you are not progressing at all... and remember when you open your mind to several different things, it's always going to be a work in progress !! On the other hand, my back bends have gotten better on shoulder stands and more stable compared to a year ago .. that's a progress. I will take it, doesn't matter how slow it was !! My solution to everything in life , go workout Such is the power of being physically active and sweating it out and it's scientifically proven .. exercising makes our brain release neuro transmitters that are responsible for happiness called dopamine, endorphins and seratonin , they are the happiness hormones ... u cannot reject it even if u want to after working out ... so get some of those happy hormones tday and everyday for good, great, healthy life!!
