Why does my heart beat for this one girl?

Dear Diana,
I'm 30, a businessman and from Mumbai. But I am not happy. I am married but it isn't working out. I'm tired of this relationship but my wife won't divorce me. After feeling lonely for a long time now, I have found love online. The girl is from Pune but we haven't met yet. We talk over the phone and also through a webcam. I am a compulsive flirt but this doesn't affect my wife. She's with me, simply for my wealth and my money. I plan to meet this girl from Pune. I haven't been as affected by a woman when meeting them for the first time or having sex with them. Why does my heart stop whenever I think of meeting this particular girl? Am I really in love this time?

Rishi

Dear Rishi,

I fail to understand why you got married in the first place. If you are a compulsive flirt, you had no business spoiling your wife's life. If she knew this before she got married to you, she's a fool as well. I hope you have told this girl from Pune that you are married with no chance of divorce. Even if you do decide to meet this woman, know that she could just as well be the female version of you. She may just as well be playing you as you have so many others. You could be affected by this woman simply because she's holding out. Are you in love? You could be if you miss her so much.

She's non-committal...

Dear Diana,

We've been good friends for two years now. She is very good and understands me well. But she says we are like brother and sister. Though neither has confessed their feelings, she loves someone else. What should I do?

Nitin

Dear Nitin,
You pursued a woman who is in a relationship/loves someone else. You couldn't be more na ve. If she already declared the nature of the relationship the two of you share, you really stand no chance at all in trying to woo her. You should've told her much sooner.

Worried about our future

Dear Diana,

I'm 20 and my boyfriend is 25. We've been together for two years now. In the beginning, it was amazing. We were physical but he ended it. These days, he gets easily frustrated. He blames his tension on work. We are in a serious relationship and both our parents know we're together even though we belong to different castes. Will we be able to get married and spend a happy life together?

DC

Dear DC,
It takes two to make a relationship work. If two years of togetherness doesn't allow you to work out your problems, two years more won't do the trick. Everybody has work tension. We all deal with it differently. But the bottomline is, we do. You always knew you two belong to different castes. Unless the two of you find a solution to the problem together, an outsider like me will fare no better. Work it out.
