My husband's backbiting is making life difficult

Dear Diana |

Dear Diana, I am an IT professional and my hubby is an engineer. We have two kids. My husband has this habit of backbiting. He tells everything about the family to his friends

My husband's backbiting is making life difficult

But now he is even backbiting to his folks. Recently my sister and her hubby came to visit us, he told him some stuff about me and my parents. He does not realise that by doing so he is creating a divide between me and my sister’s family. How do I make my hubby realise that what he is doing is detrimental to our family.

Dear Malena,
Backbiting is a destructive habit that ruins social relationships and makes people have more enemies than friends. Promises of secrecy are broken and people are maligned. May be your husband is unaware about the consequences. Or may be he is a compulsive backbiter and does not even realise what he is doing.u00a0You need to tell him that he needs to stop the habit of maligning others as it is creating a rift among your folks. Telling your sister’s hubby tales about your parents is most unnecessary. If he has a problem, he needs to tell you not his pals and the rest of the world. What if you start backbiting about him and his parents to his folks and friends. I am sure that he will not like it. So all the more reason for him to refrain from doing it immediately.u00a0
