Orgasms would not only help you stay healthy by preventing from diseases but will also keep you looking younger, say researchers

Key to good health and youth: Orgasms

They have revealed that the Big O creates a natural chemical reaction that’s better for your health and wellbeing than any pill.

Having orgasm has been shown to beat stress and depression, relieve pain and reduce your risk of breast and prostate cancer, the Sun reported.

Sex and relationships, Orgasms may keep you healthy and young

Even Lady Gaga has credited “orgasms, lots of orgasms” as the secret to her glowing, youthful skin.

According to cosmetic dermatologist Dr Mervyn Patterson “Orgasms increase blood flow to the skin by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, causing blood vessels in the skin to open up, creating a flushed look.”

In this process, the body releases bucketloads of DHEA, an anti-ageing steroid hormone that keeps you looking young.

Orgasms may result in fewer colds as researchers say having sex once or twice a week is linked with higher levels of Immunoglobulin A, or IgA, an antibody in your saliva that helps your immune system to fight off bugs.

It could be a better alternative to sleeping pills as research has found that the oxytocin released during an orgasm promotes sleep.

It may also help protect your heart.

Britain’s first orgasm coach, Dr Lisa Turner, said: “If you don’t want to have a heart attack, have an orgasm. A study in Israel found women with a higher incidence of heart disease had fewer orgasms and vice versa.”

Regular sex could beat stress.

During orgasm, the brain releases a cocktail of endorphins, including serotonin, a key ingredient in Prozac.

Prolactin is also released, said Ashley Grossman from the University of Oxford, which has a “calming effect”.

British researchers also found that regular orgasms can lower blood pressure and stress.

Research has shown that regular sex is important when it comes to the prevention of prostate cancer later in life, especially for men.

It cleanses the prostate gland as semen is expelled during an orgasm.
It also bolsters levels of testosterone, which may help to protect the heart.

But both men and women who rarely have an orgasm are around 25 per cent more likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer, researchers in Greece found.

It may be key to your youthful look. Couples who make love at least three times a week appeared on average ten years younger than those who had sex twice a week or less, according to a study.

“It makes us happy and produces chemicals that directly enhance the body and mind,” said Dr David Weeks, a neuropsychologist from the Royal Edinburgh Hospital.

A study carried out in New Jersey also found that women who had regular orgasms were better able to cope with the pain of arthritis and whiplash.u00a0
