Dear Diana |

Dear Diana, I am 34 and have suffered partial hearing disability a year ago after a swimming mishap.

'I feel hopeless due to my hearing impediment'

I’m working as a data entry operator. People have to really talk aloud for me to understand them. Often, I take a lot of time to understand things and easily gets nervous. I also make mistakes and feel hopeless. Is it the end for me?

Dear Warish,
You need to consult a counsellor soon. Talk in confidence to a counsellor about how you feel about yourself. A couple of sessions will help you overcome your complexes. The mishap in your life has obviously made you lose confidence. The very fact that your employers retained you after the accident is a clear indication that they did not want to let go off you. From your letter it appears that they are extremely patient with you and empathise with you. So why are you getting uncomfortable and irritated and harbouring silly thoughts. They are trying their best to integrate you with the rest.u00a0

Diana will solve it!
