Ratan Tata's love for dogs starts from his home and his dogs including Tito (in picture). While he joined Instagram in 2019, his feed had a special place for dogs among other aspects of his life. It is also a constant reminder of how he told people that while many canines may have homes, there are others who don't but show the same affection.
Tata used to constantly take many different kinds of efforts for dogs like helping reunite abandoned dogs with their guardians. In 2023, members of his office found this abandoned/lost dog outside Sion Hospital, and he immediately put out a call to help him be reunited with his pet parent.
It was not only abandoned dogs and strays but he used to also share an important message at the start of the monsoon season to remind people to look for dogs and cats under cars to avoid them from getting hurt.
Most recently, Tata also shared a request for blood for a 7-month-old dog suffering from suspected tick fever and life-threatening anaemia at the Tata's animal hospital and was met with an overwhelming response.
It was not only his personal experiences but also those he saw on the street including this one where he spotted a Taj employee giving shelter to a stray dog under his umbrella in the rain.
All of this led his to open the Tata Trusts Small Animal Hospital in Mahalaxmi only a few months ago for pets.
