Advertising magnate turned author and travel influencer Veidehi Gite tells us how much she missed travelling in the last year and what has changed now that she's back on the road. Veidehi packed her bags and took on to unconventional spots immediately after lockdown rules were relaxed for Indian travellers. In the first half of the year, she traversed along the less explored blue flag beaches of Karnataka, and now she is in Gujarat, unearthing the majestic hills of Saputara. While this travel diva continues to whoop up the local experiences, she talks about the new normal and how her interplays with nature have progressed, and so have her interactions with the local communities.
She is filled with wanderlust and an unquenchable desire to travel. But how has the pandemic impacted her travel choices in recent times? Veidehi tells us that nature has sent us a strong message, and it's time we interpret it rightly. While this may not be a crop circle with a direct message, confronting a pandemic has taught me to value nature and human relations as these are crucial to our survival. Alongside being a traveller, undertake a variety of roles such as an environmentalist, an ecologist or even a mentalist to support confined adults to improve social relationships.
Being a traveller at heart, Veidehi ditched her advertising career to travel full-time as this is what keeps her real and connected. But her wanderlust guide to travelling responsibly comes with life hacks you all may want to follow. Sharing her thoughts, Veidehi says, "The world is full of magnificent sights and unique natural reserves that everyone should see in their lifetime. But, this exploration must be actioned in a way that it impacts local communities and resources positively. Now is the time to stand up for the well-being of our planet." She further adds, "While taking to main landmarks that different cities have to offer, appreciate new experiences, cultivate cultural awareness, embrace the unfamiliarity of new regions and see how the locals live, eat and thrive to sustain their lifestyle."
With her unending amount of wanderlust, Veidehi is yearning to go on a trip after trip, denoting that travel addiction may just be a miracle. As things are settling, Veidehi is gearing up for many more exciting travels in days to come. After Karnataka and Gujarat, she's planning to travel to Sri Lanka and Mauritius next.
