Earlier, South City Walk and Acropolis Mall both joined hands with the AMRI Hospitals for its Drive-by Vaccination Camps, providing parking spaces at these premises for the programme. Now, Acropolis Mall has also opened its doors for a Walk-in vaccination camp that takes place everyday from 12-6 pm at the fourth floor of the mall. “What made the initiative more people-friendly is that the beneficiaries just have to register themselves on the CoWIN app and walk in with their Aadhar Cards to get vaccinated,” said K Vijayan, GM, Acropolis Mall. The retailers, and their employees as well as other staff of the mall were all fully vaccinated and prepared to offer hassle-free vaccination to the beneficiaries. A portion of the mall has been converted into a makeshift vaccination center, and the facility of payment is being made at the registration desk.

“Even though the number of positive cases have been declining for the past few weeks, it was necessary to ramp-up the vaccination drive in the city. We were looking for different ways to conduct these drives to reach out to more and more people. After the success of drive-by vaccination, we got confidence that people are interested in getting vaccinated in a safer environment”, says Rupak Barua, Group CEO, AMRI Hospitals. While the primary unit itself is no less in terms of safe and hygienic facilities, many are still hesitant to visit, fearingthey might get infected with COVID-19. Well, these moves of planning unique drives at different locations of the city came at a time when vaccines for the 18-plus age group became available, and the demand touched its height in no time.
“People who are coming to the mall need to carry a self-attested photocopy of ID proof and follow COVID appropriate behaviour, wearing double masks, and maintaining social distance. One has to wait at the vaccination centre for a mandatory observation period of 30 minutes after being inoculated. In case of discomfort, they should immediately contact the healthcare officials available at the premises. We also request everyone to maintain decorum for everyone’s convenience.” says the vaccination team of AMRI Hospitals.
Currently the hospital is focusing on inoculating the maximum number of people in a day. The unit offers preference to the visitors to book a slot through the BookMyShow app or just make a registration on the CoWIN portal for getting their dose at the walk-in center. The facility will provide paid dosage of Covidshied at Rs 780 per person. Without registration, no one is allowed to enter the premises.
