Sulfurcloud hasn't become a household name in the Indian Indie circuit yet, but their story and their passion for their music are what creates the stuff of legends. The band started as an idea in frontman Pragun Bali's head many years ago in Guwahati. Since then Sulfurcloud has released singles like "Maya", "Red Letter Day", and "Without You" which garnered quite some attention for the band from around the globe.

Due to professional commitments, the band has only had the opportunity of meeting once or twice a year but according to the band, these sessions have always been extremely productive. In a similar session that happened in Bangalore towards the end of 2019, the trio took up the challenge of recording 5 songs in their entirety, LIVE in a studio in a single go, like how they were done back in the day. The idea was to press the start and stop on the recording button with no retakes or refining or smudging the blemishes in sounds. The attempt was made with an aim to bring the truest raw-est sound to their audience that was tight and organic. The event was successful and these songs are currently being mixed by legendary North-East band/producers "Lucid Recess". Four songs from these recordings will be released as a concept EP and one of them "Slope", later as a single. Pragun, Ravi and Bikrant resound in unison how “amazing, sublime and liberating the whole recording experience was”.
The EP currently titled "Brand New Life" talks about a relationship and its course. The journey springs from feeling of rekindling with an old spark “Mystery”, reaching a state of ecstasy in love “Disappear”, slowly letting go of the partner “Letting you go”, leading to the main character rediscovering herself in “Brand new life”, the title track. These songs fit extremely well like a template in anybody’s life who has experienced these emotions driven by the circumstances of life in a romantic relationship.
You can expect to hear these songs in the second half of this year on your favorite streaming platform be it Spotify, Amazon, YouTube Music or iTunes among others. These songs will also be available to purchase in High-Definition quality on an Artist and Quality centric streaming platform called "Bandcamp".
Accompanying these songs will be music and lyric videos made with the help of Kanishq Reddy and Anirudh Venkatachalam from Hectic Agency. Kanishq also helped the band bring its vision into a brand new logo that was unveiled last month on the band's Instagram and other social media pages. After a ton of hardwork and dedication over 7 years has come up with an EP which follows a sequence narrative that binds together 4 songs. They are calling it “Brand New Life” and it is bound to go off the roof in bringing back the alt rock flavour with a modern twist. It has been recorded live by the band using a spatial treatment while recording called the K-sphere format from MHM studio Bangalore. Hours of blood and sweat is captured in these recordings which have been done in the old fashioned way. Here the concept followed was just pressing the start and stop on the recording button with no retakes or refining or smudging the blemishes in sounds using the computer.

The songs fit well as a template in anybody’s life who has experienced these emotions driven from the circumstances of life.
