As a creative individual Vikky has spent many years in advertising, publishing and media.

Light' - is her first book, written during the 2020 Pandemic, where facts of our patriarchal society provoked her to think and re-examine her perception of reality. The eBook will surprise readers with the depth of truth packed in it. In just six short stories, using mundane events as a backdrop, she lightly skips through multiple heavy themes—child abuse, feminism, sexuality, social constructs and patriarchy—thus demonstrating their intersectionality, the breadth of their impact, and the terrible consequences of the denial of basic rights to women in India.

The title description – A bit of fact, a bit of fiction is surely justified!

A series of short stories woven from the fabric of our society. Some dark, some intriguing and some heart-wrenching. Stories are woven from her interaction over many years with women pan India. The underlying theme of injustice and patriarchy reigns in most narratives. The pathos is evident throughout different premises and social constructs.

The need for open conversations around topics ranging from child abuse to unequal status in marriages, financial exploitation, early marriages, women’s health, and widow status in modern India is crucial. An honestly brutal book can definitely move minds or at least make a dent in the social structure!

The moment a writer is ready to share his/her perspective and thoughts into the world, there is a sense of excitement anticipating the glory which follows with the fear of rejection as well. She felt insecure and hesitant at first, and got reviewed by other writers and academics, which gave her the courage and confidence to go ahead with the publication. She expresses her deep gratitude and regards towards Monica Khanna and Divya Vijaychandran for their timely support on this journey.

Vikky is now in the process of collaborating with an OTT platforms and creative collaborators so her stories can reach a larger audience. Her dream team is RSVP MOVIES led by Ronnie Screwvala who share the common vision of storytelling, where various issues facing our society are handled with great sensitivity best example being ‘Paava Kadhaiga on Netflix’.

For Vikky writing is like any other creative form of art. One cannot try hard to be a writer! It will come if it has to come, as you navigate through your life with empathy and a quest for truth. She truly believes that the world might change someday for women, with constant efforts and the right mindsets supporting each other.

Until then we shall continue our thirst for justice and a better world with visual narratives to support our quest and fight back against the male violence that has dominated this world.

Her book ‘Light’ – A bit of fact, a bit of fiction is primarily written for screenplay adaptation for OTT platforms is available on Kindle.
