Model Pramath Bhat talks about the important terms of Modelling

Pramath Bhat

The Indian fashion model Pramath Bhat is also known as Pramath star one of the renowned name in the fashion world who has been worked with international brands & also trained many aspiring models.
Pramath Bhat is a founder of Pramath’s Star company which is a international Modelling Agency Known for the perfection in the fashion world. He is also a National & international director who has been part of many Universities events ,international shows as Guest of honor & Judge. One who is highly qualified with the Mechanical Engineering Degree followed by various international certified course like DJing, graphic designing, modelling etc.,

The early career in the fashion industry:
Models are like immigrants; they come from all over the world ( different places)
to the fashion capitals. As we all know that every country has many fashion capitals where we need to settle down someplace to live & start finding jobs.
Before that do a survey get a professional portfolio & try joining some good Modelling agency.Because the agency helps you with the first steps.like getting you on the modelling track with good beauty pageants, shoots, works etc..,

Castings/Auditions:
Going to auditions is what you are going to do 70% of the time. This is the part of the profession where you will learn, experience the reality as they say, "you'll hear a lot of appreciation & rejection".
As a model you need to manage both ups & downs to survive & succeed.

Frequently/Most of the times during your Auditions you will come across this following things as per my experience:
• Walk : your walk test & see how you carry yourself.
• Posing for camera: Be well prepared for this always get 3-4 poses as practiced ones.
• Should’ve a Polaroid: Polaroid means a photo without any makeup/non edited & no filters, which means the "real you".
• Dialogue or a script: in front of camera you will have to be & show your skills - usually asked for TVC,commercials etc

Models are like products:
If you go to 20 castings or auditions , you probably are going to get only 2-3 confirmed job.Always depend on how you present yourself.

Backstage:
A place where you start your rampwalk, shoots much more (Depends on the occasion)
If you have seen photos or coverage from backstage, you'll notice how many models are with their cell phones or a magazine , because there is a lot of waiting time involved.
And yes, there is all the facilities like food, restrooms etc.,
but most of the models usually prefer juice/hot beverages or some soft/light food.

Walk line up (Fashion weeks/Beauty Pageants/promotional shows): lining up and walking on the Ramp. There is an backstage manager with the team next to you with a preplanned things & schedule who will inform you the right moment to go out and keep everything synchronized.

Important things to keep in mind during the walk:
Walk with confidence, pleasant smile & eye contact go straight to the photographers , stop, give 2-3 poses with sufficient time for clicks do a confident turnaround and go back. You might not believe it but the "turnaround" is the most hard one when it comes to the rampwalk.

People think it's simple, but walking that way is not easy.It involves a lot of practice and there are even several courses to learn it.The moment you walk on a rampwalk you feel so amazing. You feel like you are the only person in the world, the music is great, loud and your steps are synchronized with the beats, you are wearing clothes of someone who had put love and hard work on it and you are there to make it the most outstanding piece of cloth in the world.

Photoshoots
If you ever watched Live shoots you probably know how things work out here. Many Staff gets together, with assistant photographer does some tests and you get make up to start shooting, a lot of photos will be clicked to get best clicks, sometimes just one or two.
Always try to know your best angles and best expressions, considering that an expression which will be very helpful during your entire carrier.Every profile look of a model looks different for example left profile looks is completely different from the front profile look the model looks differently in all the profile.

Career
There are the top 20% in every market. But on this Fashion world only the top 15% survive a longer career than 10 years.
A model's career is short time & is based on fashion. If you want to stay in the game than it’s a mandatory to be perfect with everything like updated portfolios, good communication skills, contacts, social media along with dedication, decency & patience.
It's a career based on exposure, if you shine in the fashion world you will get more opportunities (In regional Hindi language we say that jo deekhata hai vo bikata hai) related to brand promotions, rampwalk, shoots much more.

Career paths as per my knowledge:

• New Face: someone who is new on the field but is getting good exposure, the"girl/boy" of the moment, everyone wants to work with her/him, even if they are an inexperienced model.
• Fyn, Models: the "ordinary ones", with some experience and work occasionally in the field. Spend a lot of time giving auditions.
• Top Models/Super Models: They are the ones who are not less than any celebrity. Often called for so many projects that the client needs to wait for them, of course this means more name, fame & money and you hardly attend auditions as well.
