As a country, we took pride in looking at so many Indian players soaring to success with flying colours at the recently held Tokyo Olympics. It is surreal to learn about the success stories that these talented beings have created at the much-esteemed sports event. Apart from many of these young talents, who at different sports showcase their magic, there are many other people behind them who push them to achieve their goals and make sure that sports in our country reach higher levels. Doing exactly that in the sport of Hockey is Devendra Pratap Singh Tomar, who proudly serves as the Associate Vice President of Hockey India.

Astutely managing this position, Devendra Pratap Singh Tomar says that to be a part of the country's sports sector and to manage the hat of the Associate Vice President, Hockey India obviously comes with great responsibilities. However, he is more than happy to fulfil all his duties as a prominent person in the field, for he believes he has been doing his bit in taking Hockey as a sport in India to newer levels.

A few years ago, Mr Devendra had attained this position while also serving as the Madhya Bharat Hockey Association President. When he was entrusted with this responsibility, Hockey India President Narendra Dhruv Batra had also given him an official letter for the post in Delhi. Since then, Mr Devendra had been fulfilling all his duties passionately and making sure he does everything possible for both men and women hockey in India.

Looking at how the Indian Men's hockey team sparkled at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 with a Bronze medal and the Indian Women's hockey team spellbound the world with their talent, Devendra Pratap Singh Tomar couldn't find words to express his emotions and was thrilled to know how these players proved their mettle in a foreign land. He says this has definitely ignited the fire in many budding sportspeople and has inspired them to be a part of the sports world for representing our country on a world stage.

Devendra Pratap Singh Tomar is also a part of the ruling party in India, BJP, and through his amazing work in politics, has also gained much recognition.
