How WhatsApp Status works
Ensure your smartphone has WhatsApp's Public Beta version (2.16.336) to get the Status feature. In the beta version, WhatsApp Status has been moved under settings. The other 'Status' option that everyone can view is located between the 'Chats' and 'Calls' options.
Once clicked a camera tab allows the user to click pictures and videos to send to your friends. Users can also doodle, add stickers and more. They don't have to be sent through an individual chat window. Currently, there's no way to delete the videos and photos shared through WhatsApp Status.
