Toyota Kirloskar Motor is all set to spice up the Innova Crysta range with the introduction of a new Touring Sport variant on May 4, 2017, exactly a year and two days after the launch of the second-gen MPV! The Touring Sport will be a sportier looking version of the Crysta. A similar variant is already on sale in Indonesia, christened the Venturer.
Speaking of aesthetic changes, the Touring Sport looks darker and sportier as opposed to the stock second-gen MPV. If we piece together all the updates from the Indonesian model, the Touring Sport will get updated front and rear bumpers along with side mouldings, all of which get dark chrome inserts. The dark chrome treatment is also be seen in other places such as the front grille, rear licence plate garnish and elsewhere. The 16-inch alloy wheels of the Innova Crysta will be painted black in the Touring Sport trim. On the inside, it will get black leather upholstery as opposed to the dual-tone scheme present on the stock MPV along with other subtle additions.
Mechanically, it remains to be seen whether or not all the three engine options (2.4-litre and 2.8-litre diesel and 2.7-litre petrol) of the MPV will be offered with the new Touring Sport trim. Also, it is expected that the Touring Sport is likely to be based on the top-end variants of the Crysta. The Touring Sport is likely to cost Rs 30-40k over the variant it is based on.
