Mahindra and Mahindra showcased many vehicles from its portfolio at the recently held Automobile Barcelona (Barcelona International Motor Show). However, the primary highlight among the showcased cars was a special edition XUV500 which featured a dual-tone exterior colour. The special edition XUV500 featured an orange-coloured exterior with a glossy black roof, black roof rails, black pillars, black outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) and a black front grille. This colour combination looks quite appealing on the XUV500.
The special edition XUV500 was also shod with black alloy wheels sporting a new design. The interior gets an all-black treatment with two infotainment displays for rear passengers which are mounted on the front seat headrests. Based on the W10 variant of the XUV500, the special edition SUV packs a 2.2-litre mHawk140 turbocharged diesel engine under the hood which produces 142PS of power at 3750 rpm and 330 Nm of torque between 1600rpm and 2800 rpm. The car showcased was equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Although Mahindra hasn't announced any details regarding the introduction of the special edition XUV500 in the Indian market. However, features like the dual-tone paint with the glossy black roof and black ORVMs are likely to be offered soon as these features are getting quite popular with car buyers these days.
Mahinda recently updated the XUV500 with Android Auto connectivity, Connected Apps and Ecosense. While Connected Apps lets you use apps such as Gaana, Cricket Live, Zomato, Bookmyshow and others from the infotainment system directly, the Ecosense helps you drive economically by rating your driving style out of 100. The Mahindra XUV500 starts at Rs 12.49 lakh and goes up to Rs 18.68 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
