WhatsApp has now rolled out a two-step authentication feature for users of beta version 2.16.341 and above in its Account Settings. It has also been integrated in the Windows Phone beta variant. According to Android Police, each time a new phone is registered to the account, the user will be prompted to enter a 6-digit static verification code.

WhatsApp's latest feature aims to defend users against cyber criminals, who might try to clone your device.

Here's how it works...
>> Initiate the two-step verification option in WhatsApp by opening the settings options and click on Enable

>> Enter a 6-digit passcode that you will asked each time while registering your phone number with WhatsApp along with an email address that will be used to reset the passcode if forgotten.

>> After this, no one would be able to activate WhatsApp with the same phone number unless they have the passcode or email account to reset it.
