Cancer Patients Aid Association's ninth annual art exhibition, Colours of Life, will present works by several leading Indian artists, including Akbar Padamsee, FN Souza and Lalu Prasad Shaw among others
It is not usual to see artworks by some of India’s biggest names including Sakti Burman, Akbar Padamsee, Nayanaa Kanodia and Bose Krishnamachari at the same platform. Art lovers and collectors can be part of this at Cancer Patients Aid Association’s (CPAA) annual art exhibition, Colours of Life, which will see works by 104 artists showcased together for a cause.

Piali Syam, curator of this unique exhibition tells us more, “CPAA has been known for its work in the field of cancer; hence we have been lucky to have so many artists associate their names with us. Most artists have had someone from their families with cancer, and so, for them the exhibition was a way of connecting with several other patients and contribute to the cause.”

The impressive list of participating artists include KH Ara, FN Souza, Badri Narayan, Sanjay Bhattacharjya, Samir Mondal, Bina Aziz, Brinda Chudasama Miller, Sanatan Dinda, Atin Basak, T Vaikunthan, Lalitha Lajmi and HR Das. Part of the proceeds from the exhibition will go to the organisation.
Syam also credits the gallery, The Viewing Room, for making the venue available, free of cost. Such an illustrious list that display a variety of styles means that this collection of paintings will offer aficionados and collectors a wide spectrum of art as well as a glimpse into the cultures of different regions of the country where the artists come from.
