In a bid to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, social media Twitter India, has unveiled an attractive eye-catching #HappyDiwali emoji for all users’ Diwali tweeting needs.

To add some flair to the emoji, Twitter has introduced a poll where participants can pick a colour from given options like orange, green, blue and pink that they think would be apt for the Diwali emoji. Twitter India ahs announced that the poll will go live from 25th October and will last for 48 hours. The winning colour will then grace the emoji when it will finally launch on October 28th.
Keya Madhvani, Head of Lifestyle and Culture Partnerships, Twitter India, said that for the first time Twitter India is crowd sourcing an emoji for #HappyDiwali to bring people closer, create shared experiences and celebrate together the triumph of good over evil. The lamp is the emoji is a symbolization of optimism, courage and prosperity. Twitter has been using custom emojis for one year now and recently it went beyond the limitations of Google doodle-esque events.
