We'd like to believe that if the Italians were vegetarian, they would have approved of the Pizza Factory.

Arguably, among the most promising new pizzas parlours in Mumbai, Pizza Factory in Irla offers Indian and international pies, in addition to a menu of classic bruschettas and breads. Pizza Factory has an open kitchen (that doesn't really offer a good view of the pizza being prepared) and a few tables spread out for diners ufffd it's very basic.

But of course, you will soon realise that this sit-down restaurant has taken the staple fast food of the cool crowd of Mumbai, and made it a culinary treat that's hard to beat anywhere. The price is right, the service is dependable, and the taste will knock on your tongue for joy.

The Garlic Bread With Chilly Cheese (Rs 70) was cheesy and spicy. In the past, we've been served garlic breads that tasted like buttered toast. Not this one ufffd the fresh garlic flavours came through rather nicely. Parmesan cheese on top had turned to golden brown and the chilly tadka seeped into the crunch of the crisp crust. The Pahadi Paneer (Rs 290) pizza arrives. We chose the "thincredible" crust and it lives up to its promise. This delicious bottom-toasted thin-crust pizza is topped with quality fresh paneer, crushed capsicum, and basil.

The only complaint however, is that the toppings were sparse. Nonetheless, this can stake its claim as one of the best vegetarian pizzas available in the area.

The Homestyle Lemonade (Rs 50) was refreshingly encumbered with ice and mint leaves and was more of a mocktail than lemonade ufffd and I mean this in the nicest way. A must try in the everlasting summer of Mumbai.
