Having wowed everyone with the stylish looks of the K series devices — K10 and K7 — ahead of the CES, THE South Korean smartphone maker finally unveiled the two devices in Delhi on Thursday.

Priced '9,700 for the K7 and '13,500 for the K10, both the devices will be available only via LG retail outlets. Amit Gujral, Head of MC Marketing, informed that the manufacturing of the two devices is outsourced to Global Devices Network in its manufacturing facility in Greater Noida making them one of the first smartphones of the brand to be made in India.

What we like
Both phones feature 4G LTE with VoLTE and VoWi-Fi, promising to offer better voice quality during phone calls. They get a curved glossy design with physical buttons (volume and power) placed at the back of the device, making them one of the best-designed budget phones in the market. The body is completely plastic. However, it exudes a premium finish. The OS is Android 5.1 Lollipop and supports unique camera features like gesture shot, gesture interval shot and tap and shot. Will Marshmallow be available on it? We will have to wait for any announcement on that. Both the phones offer support for dual SIM (Nano).

The difference, however, lies in the display, quality of camera and other hardware features. The K7 gets a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 840 and 5MP front and back cameras. It runs on 1.1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. The K7 is available in titan, gold and white colours.

On the other hand, the K10 features a slightly bigger 5.3-inch HD (1280 x 720) display, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and relies on a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor for its computing needs. The device, however, features a slightly better 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Style wise, it's unchanged; however, the K10 comes with an optional back cover that allows side display of important notifications. The K10 is available in white, indigo and gold colours.

What we don't like
We would have preferred an HD display in the K7 (considering it's standard at this price range). Clearly, if LG wishes to attract buyers' attention for the K7, it will need to complement it with some solid performance and battery life, which will be interesting to see considering the K7 is powered by just 2,125 mAh battery. The battery, we believe, could be a major challenge even with the K10, which features a slightly higher but still weaker 2,300 mAh battery. Performance wise, both devices are expected to give a decent output. Stay tuned for more updates.
