75 minutes. That's what it took to take us from stressed to zen diva-dom and that too right in the middle of a busy shopping mall

Can a spa say 'Thai' without going overboard with its obsession for Buddhas and the garish use of gold? The guys at Sabai Spa obviously don't think so.

At their second outlet in a crowded mall in Andheri, I counted at least 13 Buddhas smiling at me in a state of blissful enlightenment as I waited my turn at the reception.

I was soon led to a corner where I could choose a scrub for my 75-minute Thai Traditional Foot Massage with Scrub.

The 75-minute Thai Traditional Foot Massage includes a 20-minute foot scrub.

I opted for the Mixed Fruit scrub that promised to brighten up my not-so-happy tanned feet with the help of 12 tropical fruits.

I was led to a room where five massage chairs lay too close for comfort, and was asked to settle into one of the cushy loungers in the couple's room.

My masseur started off the treatment by massaging the scrub right up to my knees. For ticklish folks, like myself, the coarseness of the scrub will come as a welcome relief.

After 20 minutes of scrubbing, my skin felt a little raw, but was visibly brighter after the scrub was washed off.

The real relaxation starts with the Reflexology treatment that follows.

The flat strokes and pressure applied with the wooden stick made my toes curl at times, but my masseur knew exactly how much pressure I could take before retreating. It wasn't too difficult to slip into a blissful semi-wakeful state that can only be induced by a good massage.

Just as I thought that the session was about to reach its end, my masseur threw in a complimentary head and back massage, using passive stretching exercises that seemed to release pent-up stress with each liberating click.

Feeling like I was floating on air, I wafted out to where a few apple slices and hot lemon tea awaited me, and was soon brought down to earth with the pitter-patter of a hundred feet right outside the garish golden door.
