Have a wedding or an awards function to grace, but don't want to shell out a bomb for a designer saree or a chic black number? Dialadress.com has answered your prayers with a service to help you decide what to wear
When designer Sonia Mehra saw her sister and friend having an agonising time deciding what to buy for a wedding, especially when everything they liked for the one-time occasion was extremely expensive, they hit upon the idea of Dial A Dress. “I wanted to give a solution and offer services where I could replace the angst of people with joy and so, decided on this concept of saree and dress rentals,” explains Mehra.

Save that cash
Everyone thinks twice before spending exorbitant amounts on designer sarees, especially when they intend to wear it for a day. Dial A Dress makes available designer clothes, which can be rented, hence saving a lot of money. “People are warming up to the idea of renting sarees.
They have realised that why buy a day’s wear when you can rent it,” explains Sonia, adding, “ We go the extra mile to give the customer a wide choice and a range so they look good on every occasion.” Along with sarees, Dial A Dress also rents out a gamut of products to suit the needs of different individuals. The collection includes fashion jewellery, bags, western wear, eveningwear, corporate and casual wear.
Sonia believes that there are plenty of advantages of renting out a saree. “You manage to get a classy, unique look each time, you don’t have to spend thousands on something you probably will never wear again, when you are done with the dress, simply return it and you are all set to rent something fantastic for the next event and most importantly, you still have plenty of money left in your pocket,” she counts.
Rentals are decided keeping in mind the kind of saree or dress that is being rented. “Casual wear starts from Rs 500 upwards, lounge wear or resort wear starts from Rs 1500 upwards while the exclusive range of designer sarees and Suits start from ' 3000 upwards,” informs Sonia.
Designs with a cause
Sonia is also going all out to do her bit for a humanitarian cause. Since the designer lost her mother to cancer some time ago, she decided to do channel her efforts for those who have had this deadly disease. “When I lost my mom to cancer, something snapped inside. I wanted to dedicate a part of my earnings to benefit thousands of women who are fighting a similar battle. A part of my earnings from Dial A Dress will go towards helping people with cancer and also towards the research on breast cancer,” shares Sonia.
