With its mouth watering, well-priced combinations, Suzetteu00a0-- the new creperie in town, is the best news for the Option-Starved office goer in Nariman Point

Imagine a glorious blend of tangerine juice, caramelised sugar and butter oozing out of hot, wafer-thin pancakes -- the word, Suzette, is enough to whet the appetite. So, when we found the cosy cafe closed the first time we dropped by, it stung. "By next week we should remain open till 10pm," promised Pierre Labail, possibly sensing our dismay, as he stepped out from behind the bar to explain that deliveries and take-outs would be limited to their list of salads, as, "Cr pes are like dosas... they're best eaten fresh off the griddle."

Pierre and friends, Jeremie S and Antonia Achache, are the team behind the tiny cr perie -- with five small wooden tables and three bar-stools (in true French style, the emphasis is on cuisine than decor) -- that stands boldly across from Status, the Gujarati-Thali-South-Indian-food haven. With chicken, ham, eggs and chicken-bacon included in recipes though, the cr perie are likely to draw a rather different crowd than that which patronises the pure-vegetarian Goliath next door.

Salads, smoozies (healthy, fruit shakes) and assorted beverages are just about all that pure-veg diners can enjoy here. But, judging by the Soleil Salad (Rs 220) prepared with incredibly fresh rocket, cherry tomatoes and Buffalo Mozzarella tossed in an olive-oil-balsamic-vinegar dressing, vegetarians won't really have any reason to complain -- and die-hard meat-eaters like us can always toss in a portion of cured ham (Rs 70) for good measure. However, it's the memory of the Apple-Compote-Cinnamon Cr pe (Rs 200) is one we're going to preserve for a chilly, monsoon morning. If there's one reason to get out of bed, this is it! Complete (Rs 230), a breakfast-option that includes eggs, chicken-bacon and cheese sandwiched between delicate folds of the sweetish pancake makes for a perfect start to any day.

Feta and Ratatouille (the French Zucchini-eggplant stew, not the Pixar-Disney animation), Creamy Spinach with pan-seared mushrooms and Emmantal and Grilled Chicken with Honey Mustard are some of the other mouth-watering fillings you can savour apart from the standard Caramel and Nutella cr pes. There's also an array of healthy fresh-fruit juice-blends and shakes to choose from. Though heavy enough to pass for a meal on its own, the Banana-Honey-Yoghurt Smoozie (Rs 130) was hard to set aside. We also liked that we could order a 500 ml bottle of mineral water here, instead of the often-excessive, one litre option.
