The beauty in Kutch embroidery lies not just in the intricate work and the unique look of the product, but also in the effort the innumerable craftswomen put in to make sure these designs are delicate and beautiful.
Encouraging this art and the skilled workers who practise it, is Shrujan, a grass-roots movement that enables them to become self-sufficient and earn a dignified and sustainable livelihood. Daily, over 3,500 women in the villages, take time out from their household chores to sit down and embroider beautiful designs on different products.u00a0

Featuring many of these products, is Shrujan’s exhibition, which will be held from Tuesday to Friday, next week. Apart from the fact that you can encourage these skilled women, it also presents a great opportunity to get beautiful garments and accessories with Kutchi designs.
