One of the latest methods of meditation that is doing the rounds in Mumbai is the Subtraction Meditation.
Created by Korean teacher, Woo Myung in 1996, this method involves self-examination to find and throw away the roots of wandering thoughts. According to the Subtraction Method philosophy, if you hold back and suppress, the same negative thoughts rise again and again. However, through this type of meditation, it is possible to remove them completely and allow fundamental change in your mind.
Keen to try this method? Head for a week-long free seminar organised by Mumbai Meditation Centre at Andheri. Taking place through this week, the seminar includes three sessions every day.
Each session lasts for an hour and you can reserve your seat for any one of the sessions.
The centre has roped in Korean expert, Eu-dae Hwang to guide the participants in the seminar through a simple step-by-step process that will provide you with the ability to reflect and expand on yourself and expand your consciousness by subtracting negative thoughts, anxiety, judgment, selfishness and depression.
Simultaneously, this method encourages you to inculcate tolerance, compassion, peace of mind and self respect.
The expert would also be conducting a lecture on this form of meditation on September 11.
Till: September 13 (main speech on Subtraction Meditation on September 11)
Time: 12 pm, 3 pm and 8 pm (you can reserve a seat for any of the sessions)
