According to recent findings, the newly launched iOS 10 has weakened backup security, which makes it easier to hack than previous versions. Furthermore, professional hackers opine that due to Apple dropping the ball on password security with the new iOS 10 it would enable cracking logins of backups stored on other platforms namely Mac or PC on a much easier scale.

The iOS10's security was probed immediately after its release into the market by a Russian firm named Elcomsoft, who specialise in selling kits to break into iPhones. Their purpose it's rooting around a target's device and check the level of vulnerability.

Elcomsoft found that since Apple's was utilising a weaker password protection mechanism for manual backups via iTunes, it made it open to cyber attacks.

Apple's iOS9 could generate 2400 passwords per second, iOS 10 on the other hand is capable of generating 6 million passwords.
