Dear Diana,
I'm in my final year of college. Two years ago, I fell for a girl who has now relocated to Coimbatore from Mumbai for her studies. I trust her, but I feel insecure at times. For some strange reasons, I have these weird dreams that she's cheating on me. I haven't told her what playing on my mind, but the distance is surely making things difficult for me.

Dear Shravan,
As they say distance makes the heart grow fonder. If you are serious about each other, there is no reason for your insecurities to spring up. There are scores of couples in a long-distance relationship due to professional reasons. In your case, it is for studies. After she completes her course she will be back in Mumbai and with you. So in these few years of separation, you can gauge how much she means to you. As for you harbouring thoughts about her cheating on you — stop being insecure and get a life. What if she thought likewise? Think how you would feel.
Dear Diana,
I'm 26 and like a neighbourhood girl a lot, but the problem is my reputation which is more of a loafer who is a good-for-nothing. The girl I like doesn't talk much to me. I feel she also thinks I'm a rowdy which I'm not. I work as an electrician when I'm not fooling around. How can I get her to believe that mine is true love and not just timepass?

Dear Babu,
Simply by proving your worth and love to her. Her apprehensions are justified as your reputation precedes you. Try to make amends by winning her over. Make her realise that your heart is of gold despite the tough exterior. It will be difficult, but make her realise you care for her. Also, why don;'t you turn over a new leaf. Try and break the image you have by working hard and proving to your neighbours that you are worth it.
