The Tambdi Jogeshwari Ganpati is one of the most popular Ganpati idols in Pune. While it is a temple of Goddess Durga who is regarded as the patron deity of Pune, the Ganpati idol on the premises is also greatly revered.

The small silver idol of Ganesha is kept on a palanquin where you can present your offerings to the deity. Historians point out that the temple dates back to the year 1893.

It was one of the idols that was kept when Lokmanya Tilak started the festival of Ganeshotsav.

For the last few years, the idol on display has been sculpted to resemble the elephants of Africa. The mandal is now more than 100 years old and undertakes social activities.
