“Cleanliness is next to godliness”- one of the most commonly spoken quotes, was said by John Wesley in 1778. However, cleanliness has taken a fallback in the past year. But Mehul Parashar, a Shyamlal College, Delhi University, believes otherwise.

He has been making relentless contributions as a social activist by informing the general public about getting free toilets through Swach Bharat Abhiyan. He is even making contributions as the president of Delhi Youth Akhil Bharat Varshiya Brahman Mahasabha Reg.

According to Mehul, the future is completely unpredictable. Therefore, we can only make contributions in the present. Moreover, he states that everyone has the right to live in a clean and hygienic environment, especially with the ongoing pandemic strain.

Mehul Parashar is a political and social activist who also has a Bachelor’s degree in law. He was born and brought up in Delhi. Therefore, he has taken the initiative to begin tasks from home. According to him and his organization, everyone can start by cleaning their homes and their areas.

He has been relentlessly motivating people through public speeches, presentations, and interpersonal connections about the importance of cleanliness. Presently, Mehul is also running an awareness campaign to target the maximum audience in India and abroad. Moreover, he has taken it upon himself to conduct cleanliness drives in regions surrounding his home.

The social activist also believes that people can benefit through different government schemes associated with cleanliness. In his opinion, a healthy and clean environment in the present would also produce similar results in the future. Moreover, as a passionate person, he doesn’t feel obligated towards such a moral duty.

Instead, Mehul thinks that awareness campaigns and cleanliness drives are a part of his civic duties. He believes that serving society is not only a good reason but also makes a person more human. Moreover, Mehul believes that the universe is his family and helping family members is always noble.

Mehul also thinks that cleanliness drives and awareness campaigns would create a healthy and happy atmosphere for different families. Mehul was an unopposed elected councilor of a student union election at his college between 2014 and 2015. Besides this, he was also the Sports Secretary, Students Union, the University of Delhi between 2014 and 2017.

Additionally, Mehul has been handling other responsibilities since 2013. He was part of Rashtriya Svayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Basti Pramukh between 2013 and 2014. After that, he was the District Coordinator at Zila Sanyojak, ABVP, between 2014 and 2014. It followed with his career in Vibhag Sah-Sanyojak, ABVP, between 2015 and 2016. Also, between 2016 and 2018, he became a State Executive Member, ABVP.

Mehul believes that this interesting journey was a result of his strengths. These include good listening skills, calmness, debating, adhering to public issues, and finding common grounds. He also has three significant skills. These include presentation, public speaking, and an excellent memory.

Mehul has a nationalist ideology before the beginning of his political career in 2013. During his college years, Mehul wanted to find the aptest field for social contribution. Therefore, he kept exploring until he found that having a safe, clean, and healthy environment would drastically change.

Therefore, he started his journey as a social activist and started contributing as much as he could. To date, he finds ways to make society a better place to live by running awareness campaigns and cleanliness drives. Additionally, he is helping people learn more about government policies, so they start receiving the benefits.

Over the years, Mehul has become an important social activist that guides residential citizens and helps to understand benefits, especially for elders, and make changes. We thank him for his relentless societal contributions without second thoughts.
