Impasto syndrome

World masters such as Vincent van Gogh and Rembrandt van Rijn have used the ‘impasto’ technique in their works. Impasto is essentially a painting technique where the paint is laid in thick layers so that it stands out on a surface. In this ‘Texture Knife Painting Workshop’, you will learn how to ace this art using a blunt knife. The materials required for the class are Camel Artist acrylic tube colours, A4 size canvas,  pencil, eraser, palette, palette knife/ butter knife, napkin and water.
When: April 17, 5 pm. Visit: www.bookmyshow.com

Master the mandala

If you want to try your hand at a new art form, check out the ‘Learn Mandala Art’ workshop. A mandala is an abstract design which is usually circular in form. These designs can contain both geometric and organic forms. This class will be conducted by artist Aishani Dhawan, who has been practicing and teaching mandalas since 2017. The things you have to keep handy before the session are a drawing sheet, fineliners or black gel pen, pencil and eraser, scale and protractor.

Unicorns for the young ones

Kids are just as stressed and anxious about these uncertain times as everyone else. Adjusting to online classes and staying indoors 24x7 takes a toll on them. The ‘Kids Special Unicorn Painting Workshop’ is a good way to keep them engaged and encourage their creativity. Kids will be guided step by step to create a unicorn. They will require an A4 size sheet or drawing book, oil pastels/wax crayons, pencil and eraser, and sketch pens. This workshop is open to 5+ years children and pre-registration is required.
When: April 18, 4.30 pm. Visit: www.bookmyshow.com

Dip and daub

Explore the use of watercolours in a ‘Watercolour Techniques and Motifs Workshop’, to be conducted by artist Elizabeth John. Here, you will learn about the finer points of the gentle art of watercolours. For this class, you will require drawing pencils, a sheet, a palette, watercolour cakes and round brushes size 2,4,6,8.

Paint by pouring

You can leave the paintbrush aside for this ‘Fluid Art workshop’. Simply drip, swirl or pour paints to create your masterpiece. No prior experience in art is required. The art kit will be delivered to your home and you will learn two techniques of fluid art. Participants will also create fluid art with their initials. The kit will contain a 12" canvas (circle or square), your initial, five paints, apron and gloves. Once you have paid for the class, fill up the Google form with your full address along with pincode.
