Coming from a typical Indian middle-class family, the young music enthusiast is already making a name for himself among the crowded music platform in the country today. His  performance embodies the kind of eclecticism that has come to define today's musical landscape.

With much thought and time Sahil Samuel pictured for Naalayak and was formed finally in 2015.  Naalayak is a Delhi/Chandigarh based Hindi rock band that comprises four individuals, Sahil Samuel – the lead vocalist and the frontman, Akshatt Kakkar- the lead guitarist, Aashish Kalanta – bass guitarist, and the drummer- Garry Singh Arora.  He has performed many musical gigs till date having written and recorded many admired and prized songs some of which include Sawaan, Bawra and many more. Their latest album released was ‘Hindi Gaane’ and they were supposed to be on our tour however with the outbreak of the pandemic and the lockdown been forwarded further, things got delayed. Moreover, just as those struggling because of the pandemic, they could not completely release their worked out songs due to financial crisis. However so, the four songs released from the album are: “Dil-Ae-Raza,Mustafa, Befikre and Nasamajh.”

Sahil has been passionate about playing music from an early age. However, his family staunchly believed that only a job can offer security and did not support his musical dreams. After 12th standard, he went against his parent’s will to pursue music as his career. Henceforth, he had to face many challenges along the way of his musical journey. Even then with dedication, hard work and grit, the talented Sahil marched ahead. He started sharing his songs and videos and someone from a club saw his video and a friend of his recommended his name. That is how he got his first club gig. For some time, he was part of a band known as Swastik as  their vocalist. Later he formed his own band NAALAYAK on October 21st 2015. Over a period of time, Sahil has evolved as a performer and his style has developed gaining  lots of fame and name in independent industry.

Sahil Samuel : Be an artist for the show not show off.

Fame (show off) is like a cancer if you detect it timely you will cured and shine for long.(history) If you don’t fix it you will be gone very soon.-sahil Samuel

Since he was a child, Sahil has been soaking up musical inspiration from the likes of Pakistani artists such as Atif Aslam, Ali Azmat, Indian artists like Swarathma, Raghu Dixit, and Lucky Ali. From the international scene, he is a huge fan of Axel Rose, Robert Plant, and Freddie Mercury.

Sahil shares a piece of advice to all the artists "Artist life is a curse" which he believes is cent percent true. He says, 'I wish lots of love and luck to all the up-coming artists, but would also warn them about the challenges ahead. One will experience many ups and downs in their journey of music career but one should stay focused on their work and never give up.'

He looks forward to the new and exciting aspects still to come in his career. Visualising Naalayak in the coming years would be to release multiple albums and be on a world tour. Being an Indian artist, the vision of Naalayak is to broaden their appreciating listeners worldwide.
