Despite the onslaught of technology, the art of writing letters may not die just yet. Especially when you have people like those behind The Goodwill Tribe, a community that comes together to write kind words to absolute strangers, around. Join them for their letter-writing circle, where you too, can write letters to those in need of hope.

"We started The Goodwill Tribe around four years ago in Dubai. Today, we have 14 chapters across the world. This event is all about inspiring human connection and compassion through letter writing," says co-founder Sonia Parekh.

Explaining how the process works, she says that they begin by asking individuals to send in letter requests by filling out an online form through their website. "It could be for a friend or family member or anyone else that you know is going through a tough phase, or needs reminding of how amazing they are. All we need is their story," she says. These stories are then shared with the volunteers at the meet-up, who then jot down words of encouragement, love and hope on letters that are then wrapped beautifully, and sent out anonymously to the recipients.

Parekh says, "Each recipient ends up getting anything between five to 15 letters, depending on how many volunteers we have. And we make sure to send these packages via snail mail, because the joy that comes from it is different."
