A Mumbai-based production house has invited frames of window image views, and entries are pouring in from across the world
The importance of a window is such that the metaphor is almost ubiquitous in prose. It is, after all, that opening which connects us to the world we are away from. This view differs according to places, houses and even the person.

A Mumbai-based production house Camera and Shorts initiated a project to collect these impressions from people across the world. Two months later, the results are intriguing. Images have come in from as far as Russia and the US and, of course, from Mumbai.
Joelle Fernandes, executive producer & creative associate of Camera and Shorts, says that the idea occurred when they were thinking of how to make their social media page engaging every day with new content.
We are all sandwiched between the blue and the green are Amber Shiravastava's words to accompany this picture he sent from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, USA
"It was raining that day and it struck us looking out of the window that views from different windows could be an idea," she recounts.
She says that they have posted 60 images till now and are amazed by the diversity and quality.
When I looked at the window, I couldn't think of or say anything. Only the action of capturing the view went through my mind, says Dipika Champaneri, who sent this view from Wadala
"Initially, we felt that we would receive inputs only from college students and those who aren't busy enough to find time to stare at windows. But, we have been quite overwhelmed with the response. There are images from tents and even through car windows."
All the images sent are usually displayed on the website unless they are of too low quality or don't meet basic requirements like showing the edges of the window.
The hide-and-seek, between me and the everchanging mountains. When the mountains are not visible, I marvel at the space left behind, writes Takapa as he offers a glimpse into his life in Sikkim
"Ashay Gangwar, the founder, and I browse through the images, and if they meet our standards we send it to the rest of the eight-member team of Camera and Shorts for their assent," she explains.

With more pictures pouring in, their immediate plan is to make postcards with the images and then eventually, "once there are enough good pictures," hold an exhibition.
