We ask the veterans about the young guns they are rooting for.

Pankaj Udhas

Pankaj Udhas
Picks: Pooja Gaitonde, Gayatri Asokan, Mohmmed Vakil, Aabhas Joshi.
We are pinning our hopes on the younger generation to take the legacy forward. Fortunately, there are many young singers who are keen to pursue the genre. I look forward to their performances.

Anup Jalota
Picks: Pooja Gaitonde and Jazim Sharma.
From Begum Akhtar to Pankaj Udhas, ghazal has had a great journey with several talented singers. Now, the baton needs to be handed over to the younger, promising talent.

Talat Aziz
Picks: Aabhas Joshi, Sneha Shankar, Pooja Gaitonde
Aabhas has great potential. He will get better with time. I recommended Pooja Gaitonde for Khazana a few years back. She has great potential, too. Sneha Shankar, 11, is extremely talented.

Mitali Singh

I am mesmerised by the skill of these young artistes. I feel proud and confident about the future of ghazal.
