She has organised two short-term courses — Feature Film Screenplay Workshop and Film and TV Script and Direction Course — that starts from January 3. Both courses will be conducted every Sunday over a period of four months, and will teach the basics of screenplay writing and film direction, as well as the marketing and production aspects of it.

“There are lots of people out there who want to explore filmmaking and screenplay writing, but never got the opportunity, either because of personal responsibilities or family pressure. These workshops are designed to help them achieve their dreams,” says Rajashree, winner of National Film Award for her short fiction film, The Rebel.

Both courses are designed to help newcomers, irrespective of age, explore their creative side and includes master classes from popular names such as Piyush Mishra, Sudhir Mishra, Paromita Vohra, Bishwadeep Chatterjee and Sanjay Chhel.

“At the end of the course, the film direction students will be required to submit a short film, whereas, screenplay writing participants will be required to submit a film script to earn the certificates. The students will also get a chance to pitch their film ideas to film producers at the end of the workshop,” says Rajashree.

Interested candidates can submit their applications before January 3. However, late admission, depending on availability of seats, may be allowed till January 10.

On: From January 3 onwards; every Sunday (morning for film direction and afternoon for screenplay writing)
Cost: Rs 24,900 (for direction) and Rs 37,900 (for screenplay writing)
