For readers and film buffs who tend to lose themselves each time they step into Lewis Carroll’s literary classic, Alice In Wonderland, there’s good news. Little Alice, Cheshire cat, Mad Hatter, Queen of Hearts and the rest, will come to life at a cinematic tribute to the classic. In a four-film spectacle, you can relive Alice’s life.

Focusing on Carroll’s classic as cinematic inspiration, Alice In Wonderland directed by Clyde Geronimi, Wilfred Jackson and Hamilton Luske, a 1951 film from USA is a musical. The 13th of Walt Disney’s animated features, the film premiered in New York City and London and was panned by the critics. However, it’s regarded as one of the best film adaptations of Alice. You can also catch Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland (2010), a dark fantasy starring Mia Wasikowska as Alice Kingsleigh with Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter, that is a live-action remake of the 1951-animated film.

Also, on view will be Jan Svankmajer’s Alice (1988) and Valerie And Her Week Of Wonders (1970) by Jaromil Jires, both Czechoslovakian films. Svankmajer made a surrealist film with his usual animation techniques of clay figures and puppets, creating a bizarre wonderland for Alice. The film was also his first feature-length film, and it emerged winner at the 1989 Annecy International Animated Film Festival. Jires’ version is based on the 1932 novel of the same name by Vítezslav Nezval that shows Alice traipse through a shifting landscape  made of dream adventures.
