A few kind (and determined) souls from Mumbai are helping Pokémon Go players complete their collection
Thanks to the explosion of Pokémon Go, you either play the game yourself or know someone who does. You've been walking around capturing pokémon in your neighbourhood, your workplace, and even on vacation. While you may have managed to collect a bunch of these little creatures, you might not really know where to find the rest. And you gotta catch 'em all, right?

The game is all about discovery: yes, it may be a tad obvious that parks would have a plentitude of grass-type pokémon, while close to the sea, you're likelier to find water types. But the question here is, which ones? If you'd rather find out for yourself, stop right here, but if you're a sucker for spoilers, we're happy to help!
Mapping the city
While a few maps were earlier available online to help people find pokémon, the game's developer, Niantic, recently started blocking users that cheat by "falsifying your location, using emulators, modified or unofficial software and/or accessing Pokémon Go clients or back-ends in an unauthorised manner including through the use of third-party software," according to its updated Terms of Service.
This is where Mumbai's Pokéwalk organisers come in. They've been playing the game obsessively, and, as a result, know where you should go looking. Mahesh Patil, 29, is the founder of Mumbai Trekkers, which will be hosting a Pokéwalk in the city tomorrow. The Byculla resident has gone to extreme lengths, exploring several areas and find the spots that host the most pokémon, including rare ones like Pikachu and Scyther.
"One night, a friend and I decided to take my bike out and check the density of pokémon around the city. We started in Byculla, moving to CST, Gateway of India, Marine Drive, Girgaon Chowpatty, Breach Candy, and Shivaji Park, before finally returning home," says Patil. The result of his midnight adventure is the walk (drive, rather), which will take participants through parts of the city with a high pokémon population.
The rare, ensnared
Help is also present in the form of a Facebook page called Pokémon Go Mumbai. It's creator, 24-year-old Aavin Ashta, says, "Pokémon tend to cluster around popular spots such as Marine Drive, Colaba, August Kranti Maidan, Shivaji Park, Bandstand and Juhu Beach, among others."
When it comes to finding rare pokémon, he says, although there's no real cheat sheet, he found that a lot of Pikachus can be spotted at August Kranti Maidan. "Similarly, you get tons of Magnemites and Voltorbs in Colaba, but hardly in other places in the city. Shivaji Park has a lot of Drowzees, among other common pokémon like Doduos, Pinsirs, and Tangelas," adds the Kandivali resident.

Although Ashta hasn't completed his collection yet, a friend has managed to find 110 of the 145 pokémon available in the game. And now, with our handy little guide, you can get closer to this number too. Go on, then. You have the whole weekend ahead of you.
