Heritage enthusiast Bharat Gothoskar started a heritage lovers platform called Khaki Tours, through which he conducts walks in Lower Parel, Banganga, Chowpatty, Bazar Gate, Lalbaug, Gamdevi among other places, and introduces people to little-known historical facts and places.

This Monday, they are adding to their heritage walks list by introducing #UrbanSafari — open jeep tours to showcase the hidden heritage spots in the city. The first ride will be through Fort.

The launch event will take place on Monday with a #BallardBolt heritage walk. This self-guided walk is free and all participants will be given a complimentary map with information of various sites of the Ballard Estate precinct. “Expect to learn about World War I memorial to commemorate people who’ve lost lives in the Port Trust area, a seamen’s club that was inaugurated by the Prince of Wales, a museum called Ballard Bunder and the New Custom House. At that point, this whole area was designed to mimic London. When you walk there, you will feel like you’re in London,” says Gothoskar.
