While most of us fear for our dear lives when out on the city’s bumpy, crowded roads, there are concerned citizens and planners who are constantly racking their brains to unclog the city. Gurgaon has been celebrating Raahgiri Day: Apni Rahen, Apni Azadi — that has no cars on the road from 7 am to 12 pm — since November 2013.

Taking a leaf out of Gurgaon’s example, Amit Bhat, strategy head, urban transport, at EMBARQ India will be holding a discussion in partnership with Studio X, Mumbai Transport Forum and Observer Research Foundation. Raahgiri Day is slowly catching on in many places such as Ludhiana and Noida, and let’s fervently hope that it just might be our go at
a saner Mumbai.

On March 27, 6.30 pm to 8 pm
AT Studio X, Kitab Mahal, 4th floor, 182, DN Road, Fort.
