Food ordering portal Foodpanda.in has collaborated with Delhi-based NGO, Uday Foundation for Food for Soul campaign to help spread love for the lesser privileged
Taking a cue from the spirit of Valentine’s Day, the campaign invites patrons to spread the joy of good food to those who go hungry no matter what day it is. All one has to do is to log on to the website and make a donation between Rs 50 and Rs 1,000 that amounts to a food item listed like foodgrains, pulses, vegetable oil, biscuits and so on. Foodpanda.in will forward the proceedings to the charitable institution thus reaching out to many a hungry child.

“Valentine’s Day just concluded a couple of days back so we thought why not do something for the lesser privileged to make them feel loved. Being a food ordering portal, we took an initiative to provide customers with an option to order food grains online for the less fortunate,” says Rohit Chadda, MD and co-founder, Foodpanda.in. The Uday Foundation is running this initiative under its Santushti’ Project, where they run a free food van to serve wholesome food to families of the underprivileged patients in ICUs of government hospitals. The van also feeds children who come from distant places to Delhi hospitals for long treatments. Foodpanda’s Food for Soul campaign will provide support to this project.
“Gandhiji had once said, ‘To a man with an empty stomach, food is God.’ Driven by these words, Uday Foundation has been working tirelessly towards feeding those who find it hard to get one square meal a day. Bringing out this campaign increases the poignancy of the cause,” shares Hitendra Mahajan, founding member of Uday Foundation.
