For the lovers of the format, Shamiana, a short film club and Mac Productions have organised a night of short films at the Pantry. Its founder, Cyrus Dastoor, says that the idea of such nights is to bring the best of world cinema for viewers here.
“We hold such events across the country. Shamiana also acts as a platform for short film makers who approach us to screen their films,” he adds. On the selection of films to be screened, he says, “We do not just bring award-winning films. For us, it is important that a film is both entertaining and interesting, and this holds true for the films to be screened in the upcoming event.”

The evening will witness three films Danny Boy, Before the Bomb and Minimum Wage.

Polish film Danny Boy, made by director Marek Skrobecki, is about a young poet falling in love.

Before the Bomb by director Tannax Hazemi in USA is about a 10-year-old girl, Elsa who takes matters into her hands when Child Services plans a visit that could separate her from her younger brother.

Minimum Wage is made by director Joey Alley. This film is about a girl called Kit who is walking home from a rough night at work. Kit takes a chance when a stranger, Tim, mistakes her identity.
