Dr Kallahalli Umesh, Waltham Scientific Communication Manager, South Asia, Mars India, shares, “Diwali is a crucial time when our pets get a bit confused with the sound and the light changing in the surroundings. As we make our kids understand the new activities around them, the same goes for our pets also. We need to help our pets become comfortable with such changes and get rid of their fear”.
Here are a few tips that pet parents can abide by:
>> Don’t take the pets out during this season.
>> Keep all the doors and windows closed to block out background noise.
>> The owner should behave like they do on a normal day so that the pet feels calm and also behaves the way it does in its normal routine.
>> Play soothing music so that the pet doesn’t concentrate on the noise.
