Exhibitions, cartoon strips, fashion shows and Instagram feeds - there are many avenues to view an artist's finished work. But if you're interested in the creative process, take note of a new series of discussions called WIP (Work In Progress) Sessions. A collaboration between arts and design publication, Design Fabric, and G5A Foundation for Contemporary Culture, it invites fashion designers and bloggers, graphic and visual artists, illustrators and photographers to talk about their works in progress.

"There is no space where artists can come by to discuss their unfinished work with a larger audience. The aim is to share the process and get feedback," explains Design Fabric's creative director Sanket Avlani.

The first session will feature Delhi-based fashion designers Shyma Shetty and Pranav Misra, fashion blogger Kayaan Contractor, paper cut artists Hari and Deepti, and type designer Shiva Nallaperumal.

"It is a common perception that fashion blogging is a glamorous profession. But there is a lot of hard work that goes into it - waking up at the crack of dawn to catch the right light for a shoot and coordinating dates with labels for a project," says Contractor, who will discuss a photo story she recently finished with a luxury brand for its pre-fall collection. "It's good to have a platform to share the behind-the-scenes process. Listening to other artists discuss their work is always an eye-opener."
