The Kinship for Humanitarian Social and Holistic Interventions In India (Khushii), an organisation dedicated to the cause of bringing education to less privileged children, is hosting Art Loot, a fundraiser where you can take home an artwork made by a master artist at a price of Rs 3 lakh. The artists whose artworks will be on offer include Paresh Maity, Pratul Dash, Ram Kumar and Satish Gupta.

Speaking about the idea behind this initiative, Vivek Khusalani, president of Khushii elaborates, “It is very difficult to go out to people for donations. This approach benefits and helps both sides of the spectrum — the artists and the people involved.”

Explaining further, he says, “If the value of a work is Rs 5 lakh or more, these will be available for Rs 3 lakh at Art Loot, where Rs 1 lakh goes to the artist and the remaining goes as proceeds to Khushii. It’s a win-win situation for all involved. It certainly helps build a great relationship with artists who graciously prefer to showcase their works for such a cause. For this initiative, we are getting 75 works on display, and it will ensure that everyone gets access to fine art, and eventually, help a noble cause.”

Khushii provides
underprivileged children with remedial education and brings around a holistic change in their lives by imparting value education, life skills sessions, vocational training and bridging the divide by emphasising on spoken English and
technology. They currently support 2,000 children and aim to reach out to many more to build a stronger nation. Visit the funraiser to lend your support for this initiative.
