In collaboration with Paramparik Karigar, the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS) will be launching a series of art and craft workshops as part of a series, which is an annual feature here. This year wil see some of the popular old workshops such as palm leaf etching and Bandhani (tie-n-dye) while adding new ones like Cherial painting and Chikankari embroidery.

The biggest draw — master craftsmen of national and international repute will conduct these workshops. These artists are responsible for keeping the age-old arts alive as part of our heritage corpus.

As a cultural institution, the museum is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of traditional arts and crafts. Besides the workshops, Paramparik Karigar, an organisation dedicated to the promotion of Indian arts and crafts and craftsmen, will also organise a two-daycrafts exhibition-cum-sale by master craftsmen, starting today, at the World Trade Centre in Nariman Point.
