Ali Abbas Zafar's digital debut, Tandav, seems to have landed in trouble. Several netizens have objected to the content of the web series starring Saif Ali Khan, Sunil Grover, Dimple Kapadia, and Tigmanshu Dhulia. Now, in a recent interview, Grover has opened up on the series insisting that Tandav is a work of fiction.

When asked about the show's stance on current affairs, the actor said that since Tandav was shot over a year ago, many of the incidents shown in the series had not happened in real life. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, he said, "First of all, this is a work of fiction. Politics, of course, is always a topic of conversation in our country. The show was shot last year, so a lot of things in it hadn't happened yet in real life. But they happened later. We discuss politics at home, it's a part of our lives. Because we live in a democracy, people actively participate in discussions around politics, and they'll relate to the show."
Tandav, starring actors Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Sunil Grover, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Dino Morea, Kumud Mishra, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, Gauahar Khan, and Kritika Kamra, premiered on Friday. Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar has created, directed, and co-produced the political drama.
On Sunday, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had sought an explanation from the makers after several people had objected for allegedly depicting Hindu gods in a bad light.
