The actress adopted her daughters Pooja and Chhaya

Actress Raveena Tandon recently seen in 'Aranyak' turned mother to adopted daughters, Pooja and Chhaya at 21. Speaking about the process, the actress told mid-day.com, "In those days one could not adopt legally so I was a guardian to them and so were my parents, we became their legal guardians. My parents were always like grandparents to them, so even when I was shooting, or travelling anywhere around the world, it was papa-mummy looking after them. The girls grew up in and around with us, when I was on outdoors (schedules) I used to take them with me. They were allowed to come with me on my shoots, during their vacations. Otherwise, they would be studying."

Speaking about how Pooja and Chhaya adapted to their new life, she adds, "It was a bit tough for them to adjust to different schools from where they started off. Today, I look at them with such pride, they have turned into responsible, successful young women. I'm proud of them."
