Nia Sharma was born on September 17, 1990, in Rohini, New Delhi. The actress has a degree in mass communication. She was ranked number 3 in 2016 and number 2 in 2017 in the Top 50 Sexiest Asian Women List by a British newspaper. (All pictures/Nia Sharma's Instagram account)
Nia Sharma started her career in the entertainment industry in the year 2010 when she starred in the popular TV show Kaali - Ek Agnipariksha. Since then, there's been no looking back for this stunning actress.
However, did you know acting happened to Nia Sharma by chance? The actress was pursuing her graduation in mass communication when she gave an audition for Kaali - Ek Agnipariksha and got selected.
"If not acting, I would have been working as an intern in any of the media organisation," said Nia, who wanted to be an anchor.
After Kaali - Ek Agnipariksha, Nia Sharma moved on to her next project, Behenein, which was a show that aired on Star Plus. However, it was her role in Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai that catapulted her to popularity.
Nia Sharma then starred in a number of TV shows including Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Qubool Hai, and one of her most famous shows so far, Jamai Raja. The show was produced by Akshay Kumar and co-produced by Ashvini Yardi and Meenakshi Sagar.

Although she kicked off her career with the tried-and-tested bahu acts in Kaali — Ek Agnipariksha and Jamai Raja, Nia Sharma shot to fame with her bold act in Vikram Bhatt's web series, Twisted.
In the same year, Nia Sharma was seen as a contestant on Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 8, and was among the top 5 finalists.
Talking about starring in the erotic thriller, Nia Sharma said, "I am glad I did a show like Twisted at a time when the [digital] industry was at a nascent stage. It came as a game-changer for me because nobody expected me to play Alia Mukherjee after roles like Manvi [Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai] or Roshni [Jamai Raja]. The role helped me grab eyeballs. People wrote that it was bold and vulgar, but I was the talk of the town."
Nia Sharma is known and respected for her no-nonsense attitude and the actress has no qualms about hitting back at trolls. Her spirited demeanour isn't restricted to the screen — the actor is known to be fiercely outspoken and takes on trolls when they cross the line on social media.
The fact that she was the first television actress to go completely bald onscreen for the role of a woman battling cancer in the show, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hain, shows how bold Nia really is.

Here's the fierce actress flaunting purple lipstick! The television diva is often seen experimenting with her lip colours, which are always met with mixed comments from her fans and social media followers.
"I have had my share of pitfalls, shocking experiences and silly fights [with co-stars], which have taught me a lot. I have grown up to fight my own battles and have no qualms putting my point of view forward. I know I won't have five actors standing by me, but I am not dependent on anybody. I have been a lone wolf," said Nia.
Over the past decade, she has steadily inched her way to the top. In 2020, Nia Sharma sat pretty with Ekta Kapoor's Naagin 4 in her kitty, arguably one of the most coveted shows in the telly world.
"Naagin has changed things for me; suddenly, the spotlight is entirely on me. I will be on television for the next 10 months. What more could I ask for," exclaimed the actor. However, the coronavirus lockdown has had a massive impact on the film and television industry with shoots being suspended and shows being canned. Naagin 4 was one such TV show that had fallen prey to this.

After Naagin 4, Nia Sharma participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi: Made In India, and the actress won the show beating Jasmin Bhasin and Karan Wahi in the final. The contest was a special edition of the reality TV adventure game show and it was launched earlier this month after season 10 of Khatron Ke Khiladi concluded.
Talking about her journey to the top, Nia Sharma said, "What started off as a fun special edition of Khatron Ke Khiladi Made in India, very quickly became my sole agenda to win the season. I gave my all to every stunt that I performed on the show. Winning the season brought a sense of happiness and satisfaction within me. It was also my answer to those people who thought Nia was only about makeup and styling. No, she's not. She is a winner and she has proven it with this win!"
