She is best remembered as the tempestuous and hilarious Haryanvi cop, Chandramukhi Chautala, in the show FIR. But do you know, she is now a Yogini? The television actress has become a yoga geek, giving her 610K Instagram followers a daily dose of mind-bending asanas. (All photos/Kavita Kaushik's official Instagram account)

"Television life is so busy. I used to work 25 days a month, in 9-to-9 shifts. So, where was the time for a leisurely workout routine? So, though I loved yoga, and have been practising for more than 10 years, it's only now that I can actually give time to it," said Kavita in an exclusive interview with mid-day.
Kavita has picked up bits and pieces of the science from various places across the country. She has done a course in Isha Kriya and learnt yoga at the Ananda in the Himalayas.
In picture: "Lord will always be found inside first .. before we venture to a temple or celebrate with our idol on the streets inculcate love for the creator within, train the senses and control the mind, be like shiva... calm, compassionate, powerful.. we are supposed to," Kavita Kaushik captioned this image.
Her experience clearly shows: Kavita Kaushik can bend her body to her will and her Instagram is proof of that.
But these days, for her, it's all about sharing the wisdom. "There are so many things that are spread about an actor that isn't necessarily true. So, nobody really knows you. At the stage I am at in my life now, I feel the need to give back. And virtual reality, and this digital forum, is the way I can do that," said Kavita Kaushik.
"I do yoga and talk about changing. I say that I am not the person I was 10 years ago, or even three years ago. I talk about how we can make our lives better every day, and if I can help anyone in any way, then that means I am now, really a celebrity," added Kavita further.
Women on social media message Kavita Kaushik every single day with mental and physical health dilemmas and the actress helps them out in her own way!
Kavita Kaushik had shared this image and wrote an insightful message alongside, which read, "A Muslim friend had once helped me achieve this aasan. Yoga doesn't belong to any religion just like our beautiful country, those trying to divide it by poisoning human minds against each other and resorting to measures like beating scholars, teachers and compassionate people fighting to save the country's fabric, are sinners beyond one life."
Kavita Kaushik also routinely posts about working out with her husband Ronnit Biswas, whom she married in 2017. Kavita believes that it has helped deepen their bond.
Kavita Kaushik had once shared a unique post about her bond with her husband along with this beautiful picture. Here's what she had written: "Once there was a little girl who lacked a companion, she has no brother or sister to play or fight with and she kept moving towns so all she loved she would at some point leave behind, she grew up to be a lone wolf, a one-woman army cos she did life better that way, she had learnt to love but not experienced to be in it for a long time cos it was always time to ‘move’ in her head .. she hadn’t learnt to trust to stay, she had learnt they all go away, she believed she wasn’t good to fit in the normal .., then one day she met someone a lot like her on the way, he had similar scars as her, he had similar strengths, they shared their fears and saw them burst like bubbles, they had no idea how to do life well but they played in the mud, worked with their hands, made designs out of their snuggles and held each other up no matter what ... Kutch kutch Aisa yaaraana hai @justronnit aur mera." Isn't it adorable?
Talking about her husband, Kavita said, "He's a gym guy, and I am a yoga freak, and we combine that strength and flexibility well. When we do yoga together, time just seems to fly. You know when I am in the air floating above, and he is supporting me, we feel we have created something so awesome. And we love sharing it with the world."

While her favourite pose is the headstand, Kavita Kaushik does say that yoga has helped the angry young woman of FIR transform into a 'baba'.
"First attempts are special as they have a certain junoon in them. Tried the Garud pose inspired by Vitalii Shakirov today, of course, I'm nowhere close to his perfection despite lifting his bird too, but this is why I love the gram .. you never know who or who's practice may inspire you on a day when you need it the most," Kavita narrated the story behind this picture. We think she has nailed it, nevertheless!
Yoga has helped Kavita Kaushik, in terms of physical as well as mental health as well. She told in an interview with mid-day, "I have become more compassionate, patient, empathetic and nicer. I actually see people now, you know. It's for this precise reason that I want to spread the word."
